Community Corner

Alzheimer's Support Group

Are you caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias? Join Athens Community Council on Aging (ACCA) at Winder Adult Day Health at 63 Lee Street for the next caregiver luncheon.

The support group meets every month for lunch and networking and the next meeting will be on Friday, June 28 at 12:00 p.m.  This month, Leslie Sessley, counselor with the Northeast Georgia Area Agency on Aging’s Family Support Services program, will be speaking to the group about family relationships and how they impact caregiving. Please bring any questions, concerns, or issues you are having at home and we can discuss possible solutions and strategies.

This program provides an opportunity for individuals caring for someone with Alzheimer’s Disease or related dementias to fellowship with other caregivers, participate in educational programs, have questions answered about your loved one’s care, and gain knowledge from health care professionals.
