ReplyComments make my point: "It is easy to get a controversy started. All one needs do is express an opinion rooted in a traditional moral or ethical position and there are people who disagree." Thanks for reading and commenting on the column.

ReplyOne only needs to look a the no-holes-barred communities in Nevada, and California to know the lower the moral climate the more it hurts the economy. Georgia has established community standards, a required balanced budget every year and increased industry coming into our state. The movie industry is now shooting more movies in our state every year. I have to hurry on to the Capitol now to encourage our legislators to keep us moving forward with higher moral and ethical standards.

Reply"From the beginning of civilization people have needed rules by which they will live." As the rules have been opened to allow such clubs, (if I had my personal way they would not be allowed) the community must set the standards of what is allowed inside the clubs, to assure the safety of the citizens inside and outside the clubs.

Local citizens making their decisions is better than some fed coming in and forcing the community to do what they have decided is best for the people. Too much of that going on now

As a tax paying citizen we all have the right to express our opinions about issues in the public domain. Have been called much worse than just a 'buttinski.' Thanks for reading the column

With the community standards being enforced we then know the direction the culture is headed. Freedom allows for all citizens to have a place at the table to discuss the issues and to join in making the decisions about the type community they want.

The can of worms has been opened a long time. I agree with rooting out liberals.

The slippery slope in which we have fallen is getting deeper with each new establishment of strip clubs, and other such venues. For a community to lose control of those type clubs is to open the door to what you said, (pedophillia, marriages that are not marriages, etc). Society is better off without such clubs, but since they are here we need to control what goes on and what is available inside.
