Georgia vs. Georgia Tech: Triple Option, Round Two

For the Bulldogs, the hype about a possible national championship has begun.

Game time is noon Saturday in Athens. ESPN is providing game coverage.  The University of Georgia's Athletic Director Greg McGarity might have been prescient when he asserted earlier this season that Georgia Tech, and not Florida, is really the Bulldogs' biggest rival. Who would have predicted a month ago that so much would ride on this weekend's in-state matchup? Georgia survived the easier of its back-to-back triple-option challenges by defeating Georgia Southern last week. Now the Bulldogs, suddenly catapulted to No. 3 in the BCS standings, must withstand a visit from Georgia Tech before turning their attention to the SEC Championship game, likely against No. 2 Alabama. And then, maybe, the national title game? Not so fast, says Georgia…

Georgia Bulldogs vs. Missouri Tigers Football Preview: Dawgs Enter Unfamiliar Territory

Here's what's being said about the Bulldogs and Tigers in Missouri's SEC debut.

Game time is 7:45 p.m. today and, according to UGA's schedule, the game will be shown on ESPN2.  How do we know Georgia Bulldogs football is special? Because Delta Air Lines is changing its flight schedule just to make sure UGA fans get to Columbia, Missouri, in time for the Tigers' inaugural SEC game. It will be a learning process. Seth Emerson of the Macon Telegraph reports the two teams are virtual strangers. Neither squad even has a scholarship player from the other's state. Georgia head coach Mark Richt did interview for the Missouri job more than a decade ago, but the teams' only previous matchup was in 1960.
