Auburn Resident Injured in Crash Involving Vehicle Fleeing from Law Enforcement

The Auburn man was a passenger in the car, which left the road, overturned numerous times and hit a tree.

An Auburn resident was injured in a crash on Interstate 85 on Tuesday, May 14, that killed one person, another passenger in the vehicle, after the driver fled from law enforcement officers.  The crash occurred in Franklin County, and the the Athens Banner-Herald reports 20-year-old Reltheal Morton of Auburn, who was riding in the back seat, was transported by ambulance to Ty Cobb Memorial Hospital in Royston. The driver, identified as Thanquarius Calhoun, 21, of McDonough, was airlifted to a hospital in Greenville, S.C., with serious injuries. The Georgia State Patrol was attempting to locate the next of kin for the front-seat passenger who was killed. Patient Flown to Area Hospital After Vehicle Versus Tractor-Trailer Accident

The accident occurred at Ga. Highway 81 and Rivermill Road.

An accident Tuesday afternoon involving an SUV and a tractor-trailer carrying cars resulted in a patient being flown to an area hospital. Scott Dakin, public information officer for Barrow County Emergency Services, said the accident occurred at Ga. Highway 81 and Rivermill Road and one individual had to be extracted from the car involved. A second patient was transported via ambulance to an area hospital. Local Superior Court Judge Involved in Wreck in Barrow County

The Athens Banner-Herald reports Western Judicial Circuit Superior Court Judge H. Patrick Haggard was transported via ambulance to an Athens hospital.

A local Superior Court judge was involved in an accident Tuesday morning on Ga. Highway 316 in Barrow County, the Athens Banner-Herald reports.  Western Judicial Circuit Superior Court Judge H. Patrick Haggard had left his office at the Athens-Clarke County Courthouse for a work-related drive to Atlanta and had come to a stop at a red light at 316 and Patrick Mill Road when was struck from behind, Sheriff Jud Smith told the Banner-Herald. The impact pushed the judge’s car into another vehicle.  Haggard was taken by ambulance to Athens Regional Medical Center for treatment of superficial injuries and observation, the newspaper reports. Barrow County Woman Injured in Traffic Accident Involving Tractor-Trailer

The accident early Wednesday closed one lane of Atlanta Highway in Bogart, Ga.

The Georgia State Patrol reports a 57-year-old Statham woman was transported to Athens Regional Medical Center on Wednesday morning for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries after her car collided with a tractor-trailer in Bogart. About 5:50 a.m. the woman, driving a Hyundai, attempted to make a left turn from Osceola Avenue onto Atlanta Highway and pulled into the path of an oncoming tractor trailer, according to an information officer with the GSP. The car was hit in its side. The Oconee County Sheriff's Office sent out an advisory through Nixle about 6:20 a.m., stating traffic had been reduced to one lane as a result of the accident.
