Statham Resident Facing Theft Charges for Alleged Crimes in Barrow, Walton and Oconee Counties

UPDATE: Oconee Patch has more on this story. --- A Statham man reportedly told a Walton County deputy he would beat charges after he was arrested mid-October following a high-speed chase through three counties, according to a report by the Athens Banner-Herald. Rod Tyler Thomas, 20, of 458 Hammond Road in Statham, is facing 35 different theft charges in what an Oconee County investigator has called a "one-man crime spree" that spanned three counties — Barrow, Walton and Oconee. But despite telling a deputy during his arrest, "Y’all have no evidence. ...
