Price of Stamps Going Up a Cent
The debut of the U.S. Postal Service's 46-cent Forever stamps brings rate changes Sunday, Jan. 27.
It's soon going to cost you an extra penny to mail a letter. The U.S. Post Office announced recently that the effective Sunday, Jan. 27, stamp prices will increase one cent to make way for the new 46-cent Forever stamp. The price to mail a one-ounce letter will increase from 45 cents to 46 cents, but the cost for letters weighing more than one ounce will stay the same, at 20 cents for each additional ounce. The announcement states letters under one ounce mailed anywhere internationally will cost $1.10 and postcard stamps will also see a one-cent increase, from 32 cents to 33 cents.
