Winder Police Charge Suspects With Armed Robbery

The Athens Banner-Herald reports one of the suspects recently surrendered but authorities are still searching for the second man.

Two suspects are facing charges in connections with a May 3 armed robbery outside a Winder convenience store.  The Athens Banner-Herald reports Darren Michael Lamiotte, 20, and Kartez Jamal Fowler, 24, both of Athens, reportedly confronted two men leaving the Phillips 66 service station on North Broad Street and demanded money at gunpoint. The duo stole off with $1,500 and a cellphone, the report says.  The Winder Police Department publicly released Lamiotte’s identity and photograph May 9, and he surrendered that night. Authorities are still searching for Fowler.  Both suspects are facing charges of armed robbery and aggravated assault.  Chris Cooper, public information officer for the Winder Police Department, told the ABH the robbery …

K-9 Cop Finds 5 Pounds of Pot - Douglasville Patch Officer Mike McDonald, Douglasville Police Department, and K-9 partner Fino assisted in finding five pounds of marijuana on Tuesday and arresting two dope dealers, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Facebook page. The Douglas County Sheriff's Department's K-9 Unit and the Douglasville Police Department made a traffic stop on I-20. Robbery Suspect Killed in I-75 Chase – Canton-Sixes Patch A suspect who allegedly robbed a Woodstock convenience store Sunday morning was shot and killed by police on Interstate 75 near the North Marietta Parkway, leaving southbound traffic jammed for most of Sunday afternoon. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported the unnamed suspect led Cobb and Cherokee law enforcement on a chase from a Marathon station on Bells Ferry Road in Woodstock and down I-75, to just south of the North Marietta Parkway.  Police stopped the vehicle there, and the suspect aimed his gun at officers, who shot and killed him.
