News Nearby: Bogart Resident Wins $1 Million Georgia Lottery Prize

Catherine Householder bought the winning scratch-off ticket at a convenience store on Atlanta Highway.

A chicken chain manager in Oconee County is $1 million richer. Catherine Householder of Bogart recently won the prize playing the instant game 50X The Money, according to a Georgia Lottery news release. The winning ticket was purchased at Bogart Pantry on Atlanta Highway. “I scratched it in the store,” she told Georgia Lottery Officials. “I got in the car and called my husband.” This is the second lottery win for the Householder family. Catherine, who works in human resources for Zaxby's, won a $10,000 instant game prize in 2007 that was used to help pay for her daughter's education, according to the release. This time around, the 43-year-old said she plans to invest for her retirement. This post originally appeared on Oconee Patch.  …
