Winder-Barrow, Apalachee Wrestlers Place in Tournament

The two-day George Thompson Memorial tournament saw 19 teams competing.

The annual George Thompson Memorial tournament took place over two days and saw 19 different schools competing. The Bulldoggs, who hosted, fielded nine athletes during the event. Archer Academy would take the tournament with 257 points, nearly double the score of its closest competition.  Of the nine students representing Winder-Barrow High School, two would go on to place; Tristan Yaptengo in the 112 pound weight class and J'Lin Seay in the 135 weight class.  The tournament was exhaustive for players and coaches alike, lasting 10 hours both days.  Yaptengo lost his consolation quarterfinals match and landed in the finals fighting for fifth place.
