News Nearby: Grayson High School Students Arrested in Shooting Death of 14-year-old

Police believe robbery was the objective.

Gwinnett County Police announced Friday three teens have been arrested in connection with the Dec. 19 death of Paul Sampleton, 14, of Grayson. Officials say all three were fellow students at Grayson High School. Arrested and in custody are Larnell Sillah, 15, charged with homicide; and Romaine Stewart, 18, and Achiel Morgan, 15, both charged with armed robbery. Sillah and Morgan have been charged as adults, according to officials. "Detectives believe the motive for this crime was robbery," GCPD spokesman Jake Smith said in a press release. "The suspects knew that Paul Sampleton traded in high-end sneakers and possessed nice clothing and electronics." Sampleton, a student at GHS, was discovered by his father bound and shot, about 2:40 p.m. …

The matchups for the Georgia Dome next week are Walton vs. Grayson, AAAAA; Lovejoy vs. Tucker, AAAA; Burke County vs. Peach County, AAA; Calhoun vs. Buford, AA; and Savannah Christian vs. Landmark Christian, A. The 2011 Georgia High School Association football playoffs move into the semifinals tonight, one game from the Georgia Dome, and we'll bring you all the scores as quickly as we can.
