A new Barrow County podiatry office will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony from 11:30 a.m. to noon Friday, May 10. The medical practice, Premier Podiatry headed by Dr. Jonnica Dozier, is the fourth business to open at Gateway Station, a 14,000-square-foot development that fronts Ga. Highway 316. Other businesses housed within the retail development include the sports bar Top Dawg Tavern, Perfect 10 Nails & Spa and Mattress Gallery USA & Fine Furniture. A Mexican restaurant, Pancho's Mexican Grill, is set to open in June, and an Ultra Car Wash and Wendy's restaurant are coming this fall. The first business to open inside Gateway Station, a 14,000-square-foot development along Ga. Highway 316, is set to welcome patrons in March. Wayne Bartlett with Maynard and Bartlett Realty Group in Winder said Top Dawg Tavern, a sports bar, is scheduled to open March 4. The business will be joined inside the development by a podiatrist's office, a nail salon, a mattress and furniture store and a Mexican restaurant. The podiatrist, Dr. Jonnica Dozier, signed a lease for suite 200 last year. Bartlett said that while plans for a Longhorn Steakhouse location in the area have been pushed back, he still expects the restaurant to build at the Gateway site. A podiatrist recently signed a lease for suite 200 within the planned 14,000-square-foot development.
The 14,000-square-foot building that will be known as Gateway Station could be complete by late January, Wayne Bartlett with Maynard and Bartlett Realty Group of Winder said. The main tenant within the development, which is being built on Exchange Boulevard that runs parallel to Ga. Highway 316, will be Top Dawg Tavern, a family-oriented restaurant that will seat 160 to 180 guests. The retail center will also include a nail salon, and a podiatrist, Dr. Jonnica Dozier, recently signed a lease for suite 200 within the building. Work on that suite will begin soon, Bartlett said. Winder City Council members are set to vote on five annexation and rezoning requests during tonight's business meeting. The properties include the site currently under construction that will be known as Gateway Station, as well as Athens Regional First Care, an urgent health care facility. These properties are located along Exchange Boulevard, which runs parallel to Ga. Highway 316 in front of Gateway Cinemas 12 in Bethlehem. A deal to bring a Longhorn Steakhouse to Barrow County is in the works but the company hasn't closed on the land purchase, Wayne Bartlett with Maynard and Bartlett Realty Group wrote in an e-mail to Barrow Patch. Longhorn Steakhouses are one of several brands under the Darden family of restaurants, which includes Red Lobster, Olive Garden and Bahama Breeze.
