Just when you've had time to recover from Black Friday, it's Cyber Monday, a day for shopping from the comfort of home. While avoiding crowds and getting great bargains is enjoyable, Cyber Monday can be full of hazards for shoppers who fail to take proper precautions. The Federal Bureau of Investigation offers several tips to make your Cyber Monday shopping experience safe and enjoyable: If you do end up as the victim of an online scam, you can file a complaint on the Internet Crime Complaint Center website. Holiday Shopping Season Kicks Off in Earnest — What are the Best Places in Barrow to Shop?

Have you already started buying gifts? Where in Barrow County do you recommend shopping?

The Thanksgiving turkey has been carved with any leftovers stowed away inside fridges, and the holiday shopping season has officially begun.  But according to a recent AAA Consumer Pulse Holiday Shopping survey, more than half of holiday shoppers, 51 percent, have already started buying gifts, compared to 46 percent this time last year. The majority of consumers, 62 percent, plan to spend the same amount of money on presents as last year, while 14 percent plan to spend more money, a 40 percent increase from 2011. More than half of holiday shoppers, 57 percent, plan to spend between $251 and $1,000 on gifts, while one in four, 23 percent, plan to spend up to $250, according to the survey.  AAA predicts a 10 percent decline in the number of …

Are You a Black Friday, Small Business Saturday or Cyber Monday Shopper?

How do you do you do your shopping for Christmas gifts?

Every year there is an increased drive to get shoppers into stores. Black Friday now gets an early start on Thanksgiving Thursday, Buy Local campaigns push Small Business Saturday shopping and technology and social media sites encourage Cyber Monday logins. The message is clear - shop early and shop often. So what is your shopping style for the holidays? Will you be shopping off your Thanksgiving meal on Thursday or Friday, supporting the small businesses in your area on Saturday or is the computer your preferred shopping mall on Cyber Monday? The Better Business Bureau offers tips on how to avoid giving online hackers and scammers a shopping bonanza this Christmas shopping season.
