Twins Accused of Burying Body in Winder Backyard Arraigned in Florida Court

William and Christopher Cormier are being held in the Escambia County Jail pending a March 11 trial and have pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Twin brothers accused of burying a Florida reporter's body in the backyard of a Winder residence have been arraigned in a Florida court.  The Athens Banner-Herald posted an Associated Press report that William Cormier was arraigned today, Friday, Dec. 7, on a charge of murder and robbery and his brother, Christopher Cormier, was charged with accessory to murder and armed robbery in the death of Sean Dugas.  The brothers were extradited to Florida in November and had been in local police custody since Oct. 8, when a body was found buried in the backyard of a Sixth Street residence in Winder. Twins Accused of Killing Man and Burying Body in Winder Backyard to be Extradited to Florida

A report by a Florida media outlet says investigators believe William Cormier killed 30-year-old Sean Dugas on Aug. 27.

Twin brothers accused of killing a Florida man and burying his body in the backyard of a Winder residence will be extradited to Pensacola, according to a report by the Pensacola News Journal.  Investigators believe the Cormier twins were house guests Sean Dugas, and that William Cormier killed Dugas on Aug. 27, the report says. The brothers also reportedly stole some of the reporter's collection of “Magic: The Gathering” game cards, which were worth between $25,000 and $100,000, were later sold in Florida, Georgia and Tennessee.  The Winder Police Department charged the brothers with murder Wednesday, Oct. 10. Bond Denied for One Twin Charged with Murder in Case of Body Found Buried in Winder Backyard

According to a report by the Associated Press, William Cormier's twin brother Christopher was not at the bond hearing because he is awaiting appointment of a lawyer.

A judge has denied bond for one of the twin brothers charged in the death of a former newspaper reporter from Florida, the Associated Press reports in a post on the CBS 12 News website.  Barrow County Superior Court Judge Penn McWhorter said 31-year-old William Cormier did not appear to have significant ties to the community and seemed to be a flight risk. According to the report, Cormier's twin brother Christopher was not at the bond hearing because he is awaiting appointment of a lawyer. Body Found Buried in Winder Backyard Identified as Missing Florida Man

A GBI forensic pathologist used dental and facial bone CT scans and surgically implanted dental hardware serial numbers to make the identification.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Medical Examiner’s Office has positively identified the body found buried Monday afternoon at a Winder residence.  The body is that of 30-year-old Christopher Sean Dugas of the Pensacola, Fla. area, according to a news release. Dugas was a former reporter for the Pensacola News Journal and had been missing since September.  A GBI forensic pathologist used dental and facial bone CT scans and surgically implanted dental hardware serial numbers to make the identification. The dental records used were obtained through the assistance of the Pensacola Police Department.  The Winder Police Department charged twin brothers Christopher Cormier and William Cormier with murder on Wednesday.  The brothers had been…

Winder Police Charge Twins with Murder, Concealing Death

The investigation involving a body found buried at a Winder residence is still ongoing and Winder police say there are a lot of questions left to be answered.

The Winder Police Department has charged twin brothers Christopher Cormier and William Cormier with murder, according to a news release.  The brothers have been in police custody since Monday, when a body was found buried in the backyard of a Sixth Street residence in Winder. The body is believed to be that of Sean Dugas, a 30-year-old Pensacola man and a former reporter for the Pensacola News Journal, who has been missing since September. According to Winder police, a medical examiner declared the case a homicide and estimated the time of death to be approximately one month ago.
