The city of Winder will celebrate its 64th annual Christmas parade Saturday, Dec. 15. Santa Claus himself will be part of the parade, also featuring local businesses and organizations traveling through downtown Winder. The parade will step off at 11 a.m. from Ingles and travel south on Broad before turning left on Athens Street and dispersing at Jug Tavern Park. Vendors will be selling food and hot drinks along the parade route and the fun's not over when the parade ends — children can have their pictures taken with Santa at the Winder gazebo. This annual holiday event is set for Saturday, Dec. 3 in downtown Winder.
The holiday season will be in full swing in Winder during this weekend’s Christmas parade. Parade-goers should plan to arrive a little early to grab a great viewing spot downtown and take in some live performances designed to help warm up the crowd before the parade starts. Scheduled to begin its procession down Broad Street at 4 p.m., the parade will include appearances by local businesses, churches and organizations, as well as pageant winners and a very special guest — the Jolly Old Elf himself, Santa Claus. Throughout the parade and surrounding festivities, food vendors will be on hand selling tasty treats and warm beverages. Once the procession has ended, Santa will be taking photos and Christmas wishlist requests from kids of all …

The tour of homes is scheduled from noon to 4 p.m. and is just one part of a day-long, holiday-themed community event in historic downtown Statham. “Christmas in Statham” also includes a holiday market showcasing Christmas vendors, sweets and gifts of every …

Beginning Nov. 1, Statham City Hall would like to kick off Christmas in Statham 2011 in style by bedecking the town in holiday cheer. While Statham has a long and rich history dating back nearly 120 years, the city's Christmas event is virtually in its infancy. After debuting just last December, the goal is to make this year’s event even bigger and better. As early as August 2011, city hall began requesting input …
