The restaurant will officially open at 11 a.m. Monday, July 16.
Cooks, cashiers and management at the new Bethlehem Zaxby's were hard at work Saturday even though the restaurant doesn't officially open until Monday. County and local city officials, business leaders and friends and family of licensees Sam Smith and Jeff, Todd and George Faulkner were invited out to lunch or dinner at the restaurant, giving employees a trial run before the official opening. The Bethlehem restaurant is the second Zaxby's location in Barrow County and the 3,400-square-foot building seats 70. “We realized this neighborhood is a perfect fit for the family atmosphere Zaxby’s represents,” Sam Smith said in a news release announcing the opening. “We’ve built our reputation and loyal following in this community by providing …

The Barrow Crossing area's latest restaurant is set to open Monday, July 16. The restaurant is just off Ga. Highway 316 at its intersection with Ga. Highway 81 across from the Barrow Crossing shopping center. The address is 1945 Parkway Pointe, and the 3,400-square-foot location will seat 70 people. Signs at the new Bethlehem Zaxby's herald the grand opening, and the restaurant recently underwent its preliminary health inspection by the Northeast Health District. The bare bones of what will be Barrow County's second Zaxby's location are in place.
While no official date has been set for completion of the second Zaxby's location in Barrow County, a spokeswoman for the company said the goal is to have the restaurant open by late summer. Work continues at the site, which is located across from the Barrow Crossing shopping center just off Ga. Highway 316.
