A store under construction adjacent to PetSmart at Barrow Crossing in Bethlehem could be complete as early as February. Crews are scheduled to bore slab Monday, Dec. 3, for the Michaels craft store, Luis Suarez, building inspector for the Barrow County Planning Department, told Barrow Patch, and the anticipated construction completion date could come as early as February. The store is located in the growing Barrow Crossing shopping center off Ga. Highway 316. The development, which is anchored by a Publix, a Target store and a Belk, has welcomed a Kirkland's, a T.J.Maxx and a Shane's Rib Shack in the past year. According to the restaurant's website, hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. The first 1,000 customers will receive a free, reusable bag, and the company is donating $5,000 to a local nonprofit in celebration of the grand opening of its Barrow County store.
Barrow Crossing will add a new store to its retail shopping offerings — with the addition of 60 full- and part-time jobs for the area — this weekend. T.J.Maxx will open in the 26,000-square-foot suite 900 between the Target and Belk stores on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012. A new store has joined the shopping options at Barrow Crossing in off Ga. Highway 316 in Bethlehem. Kirkland's, which sells home decor and gifts, opened Tuesday, July 10. The store is one of about 292 locations in 30 states. Merchandise sold at Kirkland's includes framed art, mirrors, candles, lamps, picture frames, accent rugs, garden accessories and artificial floral products. The store will also offer an extensive assortment of holiday merchandise, as well as items carried throughout the year suitable for gifts. There's no doubt the area around the intersection of Ga. highways 316 and 81 is growing and is ripe for even more development. The Barrow Crossing shopping center is well-established with a Publix supermarket, a Target store and other retailers. Gateway Cinemas 12 attracts movie-goers to the area, and Chick-fil-A is always a popular choice for dining. But is this area the "new Winder"? The Barrow Journal reports several businesses will open in a 14,000-square-foot planned retail center — Gateway Station — near the theater, including a sports bar, a pizza place and a music “listening room” offering live performances.
