Traffic Accidents in Barrow County over Thanksgiving Total 18, Four Resulting in Injuries
Statewide, 19 traffic fatalities occurred over the Thanksgiving holiday travel period.
According to the Barrow County Sheriff's Office, 18 traffic accidents occurred in Barrow from Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 22, through Sunday, Nov. 25. Four of those accidents resulted in injuries. An accident off Rockwell Church Road and Dogwood Trail on Saturday, Nov. 24, required an individual to be life-flighted to an area hospital. Georgia State Patrol officers worked that accident. In 2011, there were 19 accidents in Barrow County over the Thanksgiving holiday travel period, with four of those accidents involving injuries. Over the 102-hour Thanksgiving holiday travel period from 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, and midnight Monday, Nov. 26, 19 traffic fatalities occurred across the state of Georgia.
