Tragic Accident Claims Life of Auburn Toddler
Police identify child killed in Auburn.
A 2-year-old was killed Wednesday after being struck by a vehicle. Gwinnett County Police identified the victim as Dior Lavalais. The child was accidentally struck as her aunt, Adelicia Zenon, was pulling a vehicle into the garage at the family’s Talon View Court home. According to the police report, Zenon and several family members, including the 2-year-old victim, had been out running errands. When the family returned to the residence, Zenon stopped the vehicle, a 2007 Mercury Milan, in the driveway to allow two of the occupants to exit. Zenon said she thought her young son and Lavalais were both still in the vehicle.
