Bethlehem Council Sets Date for Public Comment on Proposed Budget
City plans for a 2.15 percent increase in expected expenditures.
The Bethlehem City Council on Monday evening set the date for a public hearing on its proposed 2011 budget. City residents will be able to comment on the $260,800 budget — an increase just slightly over the $255,300 budget for 2010 — at 7 p.m. Jan. 24 at City Hall before the council votes to accept the new financial plan in February. The city's actual expenditures for 2010 totaled $174,018.82. Budget increases in 2011 include fees paid to Allied Waste for trash services, consultant and legal fees, advertising and travel expenses and utilities.
