Dennis, please reread what I wrote: 'After all, if you are taken into custody and accused of aRead More crime, then interrogated, LEO's can LIE to you, but don't you dare lie to them!' Works both ways. Sorry you gave up riding due to stupid motorists. In a way, I don't blame you, but I refuse. I love it. It's better than therapy and cheaper too. I love the good we riders do. ABATE works very hard on this issue, so does the MRF. That's why there are signs and window stickers everywhere: Watch Out For Bikers! I have found the biggest infraction by a motorist is failure to yield right of way, resulting in serious injury and even death, to the rider and passenger, if there is one. These motorists are cited ONLY for failure to yield right of way. A misdemeanor. A fine. Big deal. The charge SHOULD be negligent driving, vehicular manslaughter. The motorist was RESPONSIBLE. I bet that woman who missed her exit and caused the death of a rider wasn't charged for vehicular manslaughter, if anything at all. All I can say is that she will have to live with that for the rest of her miserable life. What she did endangered ALL motorists. The rider paid for her error with his life. No doubt it devastated his family and friends. Like throwing a pebble into a pond. As far as harassment goes, you have not ridden lately. Although I haven't been a victim (yet), I know others who have. I can cite stories. Some years ago, a rider and others set up a benefit event for our veterans, got all the right permits, etc., at Big Pipe Creek Park outside of Taneytown. I went the first night (Fri.). Every single rider was being stopped by the cops before being allowed to be on their way. There were pepper cannons. Someone could have murdered 10 people in Carroll County and not a cop would have responded. I only stayed long enough to hear some bands. All the way home from Taneytown to Westminster, some 10+ miles, I was followed by a sheriff. At Englar Road, where I had to turn off, the sheriff made a U turn and headed back to Taneytown. No harassment there, no sir. I returned on Sunday to find the event wrapping up and hardly anyone was there. Saturday was dismal too. The promoter ended up $500 in the hole and NO money for our veterans! I kid you not, not only were local LEO's there, but also troopers, FBI, ATF, and more. This happens at swap meets also, esp. the ones held at Howard County Fairgrounds. There is a police command center in a huge r.v. type vehicle. Undercover everywhere. We are videotaped and listened to. Pictures are taken of license plates, no matter what kind of vehicle. All of this is because of a minority 1% of riders that engage in criminal activity. I've seen 1%ers at swap meets and there has never been any problem. They are there for the same reasons we are. Treat them with respect as you would everyone else and you get respect back. I'd love to have a conversation with you, Dennis :) But I've hijacked this convo long enough :(

Pam, Thank you for supporting our veterans, as I am one myself. My favorite place to rideRead More was in Hartford county. Tried riding around Washington D.C. but 495 was just plain crazy. I did skydiving for years and found it was safer than riding a bike on Marylands highways LOL

I noticed that several of my posts on this thread were missing courtesy of a Mr. Dennis Robaugh,Read More Associate Editorial Director for Patch Media. Patch has a long history of such deletions, I see that it now continues under the 'new' Hale Global brand as well as under the old AOL administration. Says quite a lot about the 'freedom of the press' here on Patch. You can see some of my comments over the years about Patch at the message board: http://kennesawpatch.proboards.com/index.cgi

Lock em up. Throw away the key - we can't allow gang members to terrorize the community.

Do you know the difference between us and Scandinavia/Iceland? I would say, but I would be called aRead More racist.
Scott Donald April 14, 2014 at 11:29 am
You're absolutely right: Scandanavia has much stronger gun restrictions than we do, and they haveRead More much less violent crime. Couldn't agree with you more.

There aren't enough over-21 ho's to go around? They have to bring in helpless children for the bigRead More macho sports nuts? I will never be able to see ANY sports event without thinking of this. It's everywhere. Why is that?

What I do not understand is ……this guy is in the court room and just got sentenced,Read More and was therefore (or should have been) in the custody of court officers/police ……How the heck did he get away in the first place and why did they not catch him before he got into his truck. Someone needs to take a look at that.

JERRY S. The breath test starter interlock system doesn't really do anu good. I have a sister inRead More law that had one on her car. When she was driving while under the influence she just made her young daughter blow into the devise and " WALA!"

Thank you, Mom for having her in her car seat!
Powdertowner March 31, 2014 at 02:23 pm
Perhaps Mom should have had it the car seat strapped in correctly.
Victor Marshall April 10, 2014 at 11:31 am
@powdertowner - My thoughts exactly. This could've had a very different outcome without that carRead More seat being strapped in properly. Very lucky little girl indeed.

The attacker is a bully and his parents were fully aware of it. As a parent of a non physicallyRead More violent bully, you know when your child is a bully because he bullies his siblings. I used to get complaints from parents of frightened children about my son all the time. My son was finally cured of his bullying ways when another bully punched him with brass knuckles on. Well wishes to the Egan family. This little boy did not deserve this. Nobody does.
Omar Monroe March 31, 2014 at 07:57 am
If thats the case then Melissa Hickson, he deserved what he got, my neighbors daughter was bulliedRead More for a long time, the bullies would be so bad that they even followed her home, waiting down the street to catch her outside, she told her parents but they didn't do anything, when she finally had enough and fought back, she was expelled, and had to go to alternative school.
stephen m george jr mpa March 31, 2014 at 02:36 pm
Something important to think about regarding this situation is ...almost every kid perpetrating aRead More school mass shooting WAS a victim of bullying ...and they had enough. So, let's just brush this crime under the rug and pretend it didn't happen ...and see what happens next.
Marlene Mitchell March 31, 2014 at 02:07 pm
Part of me wants the kid to keep the money but I know that will not happen. BIG error by theRead More bank....always thought they gave you an account number! I'd think twice about depositing any money into this branch. I wonder if the bank could be fined for such a careless act. I wonder if they paid interest to the original owner of the $31,000.000 while the funds were sitting in someone else's account??

Honestly, after dealing with most of my neighbors opening their doors & letting their dogs roamRead More to do their business all over my yard, I can understand the frustration. My son cant play outside without stepping in it somewhere and now their doing it in my driveway & in front of the mailbox. Disrespectful, rude and frustrating!!! To say the least.

This professor is an idiot on so many levels. I've been on Bupropion for years and if it were theRead More "happy, horny, skinny" drug, I'd be having the time of my life (as well as my husband)! Sounds like he needs his own psychologist.

LOL LOL From your comment I doubt if you have the education to even earn $30,000 a year, much lessRead More $3 mllion lol lol. One man earning $3 million a year in salary for coaching football in the NCAA or NFL is OUTRAGEOUS and INSANE!!!! The majority of those you referred to as criminals (euphemism for Blacks!!) are "student/athletes" with a 95% EMPHASIS on ATHLETE! They take these mostly low income kids out of their environment and put them in an environment of major colleges and expect them to survive on $75 stipend, when a good percentage of them come from homes where their parents can't afford to send them $75 a month. They are expected to partake in student life, and maybe go to the student union and buy a burger and fries for not less than $8-$10, not to mention the cost of a movie, or getting a new pair of jeans. What would be so wrong with providing each student athlete a decent stipend of $500 a month, from a program that brings in probably over $100,000,000 annually? Its these kids that are EARNING that $$$$$. Quit YOUR HYPOCRISY about earning an education!! Thats THE LAST THING that 90% of these kids will earn at UGA or any other major NCAA Division 1 institution, the last thing. They'll sooner earn a prison sentence before they learn anything academically. They earn the university over $100 million a year and generous you refer to some lousy $40,000 tuition fee that is not going to benefit most of these kids (research graduation rates for student/athletes). Whats pissin you off is that these Negroes are getting the $75 a week. Eat your heart out!! LOL LOL Go buy a UGA football or basketball ticket for $150 and enjoy the players!! Or, get rid of them and have your kid play!!! lol lol lol
"E Pluribus Unum" March 19, 2014 at 10:48 pm
Doc, in a word...exploitation.
Nathan Blair March 20, 2014 at 08:26 am
When are we going to stop blaming the poor disadvantaged athletes? Let's lay the blame squarelyRead More where it belongs, at the feet of the parents that did not raise them properly, or the society that continues to allow such actions without recourse. Used to in the not too distant past, if a student used someone else's ideas, or copied printed material it was called plagiarism. Students used to be expelled for it, but today, they are given a smack on the hand, a lower grade in the course, maybe a failing grade for that class and being allowed to repeat the class. Unless we come down hard on the crime as it is committed and stop delaying consequences things of this nature will continue to be more and more prevalent in society. For the double dealing check thieves, oh, I know, lets make them politicians.

Vanessa Speed should have been charged too. This incident is all too common with "BackyardRead More Hobby" breeders. Most times the puppies don't go to the Vet but to the trash.

De-clawing & cropping of tails/ears on dogs & cats (any animal) is only for the pet ownersRead More vanity. All of those proceedures cause unecessary intense pain & discomfort lasting very long after anesthesia (if any even administered) has worn off. Heartbreaking. No different than human mutilation which is considered abnormal & criminal to most, inclluding the law. I don't even think any veterinarian should be allowed to do it nor any worth their salt would even want to include that in their practice. It's abusive & just sickening. Imagine having your own nails ripped out or ears or rearend sliced...these people are disgusting!
Omar Monroe March 21, 2014 at 07:13 am
I spoke with her on Facebook, she isn't in jail, she told me that the pet owner asked her to do itRead More as a favor, she has a kennel in Fairburn; I always thought the vet did this procedure.

When busted, the child and the john are arrested and the pimp and agency walks away. If there wasRead More ever a reason to have a citizen hit squad, this is it. After half were targeted, the other half would vanish. Word would get out in that community that the Atlanta market is closed. I love the constitution. But these kids need to be protected too.
stanley seigler March 15, 2014 at 09:15 pm
RE: these kids need to be protected too.Read More .......................................................................................... are ye crazy...there's money to be made by the agency (the porn-corp)...let the unregulated free market work its willway!!...protection for our children will eventually trickle down...dont ye feel a lil warm trickle on yo leg even now...weel .it's not rainwater, bro...
