Wow they did the right thing. Rightfulyso! Thinking the state is going to use her to get the hubbyRead More and use her testimony against her. Kill two birds with the same stone.

Georgia gun owners with carry permits need to leave their weapons at home when they visit a Target store. File|Patch
Ric Honsa, CPA July 5, 2014 at 10:24 am
I want to add that the photo in the article features a Sig P239. In honor of Independence day, IRead More will carry one of my two P239 pistols today, and I will visit Target. David, if you are out and about at Target and you see a guy with a gray hat that reads "GSSF" please say hi. I will buy you a coffee at Starbucks!
Greg Wardlaw July 5, 2014 at 08:50 pm
I don't know if they realize it but Target has made themselves a "larger Target" by askingRead More people to not bring their guns. Thieves everywhere are rejoicing knowing they will be the only ones armed. It could be a marketing ploy "We are a larger Target now"
David Montgomery July 6, 2014 at 08:29 am
It's a publicity stunt. It cost them nothing to get themselves all over the news and their brand isRead More not taking a hit as it did with their recent security breach. They know legally they cannot prohibit law abiding citizens from carrying in their stores. They can only "request" it. They are appeasing their defined customer demographic - the soccer mom and men that are light in the loafers. Real men don't care.

ChickFA has a terrific menu of excellent fast foods. Why wouldn't a ignorant and closed-mindedRead More bigot, masquerading as a zealous follower of Jesus, dine there? Zealots, like all sheep, flock together.

You know, if I were to base my political beliefs on the basis of these commentaries, I would chooseRead More the ones from those who do not resort to insults. Calling an administration corrupt, reckless, & power-hungry does not make it so, & is probably the topic of another discussion. Telling someone they are "wound up" & "spinning like a top," calling LGBT folks "whiners," labeling those who agree with you as "normal", & those who do not as "speech police" & "PC," "butt boys," "not winners," "living in their own world," who "over-react," & whom one "hit a nerve," do not engender thoughtful discussion. Just because someone does not agree with you does not make them mentally imbalanced! Dan Cathy apologized, saying it was a mistake to oppose same-sex marriage, that it was wrong to conflate his personal beliefs with business, & that he respected those whose opinions differed from his own. The problem was not what he believed, it was that his business financially supported hate groups--& I belief, still does, although they have stopped supporting the more extreme ones. Their statement read, in part: "The Chick-fil-A culture & service tradition in our restaurants is to treat every person with honor, dignity & respect." That sounds about right to me.

Right Wing Restaurants. Thats funny. I think I will go to Black Power Cafe for lunch. A heapingRead More helping of Black Power and side of White Guilt please!!!!

Stirring the pot.....that's what the media dose. They call it a poll and news... it's not. AmericaRead More is supposed to be the land of the free and that includes freedom of choice. Forcing someone to take a side is not the answer. Being tolerant of others is a better route I think. Granted, there are some intricate issues surrounding gay rights and abortion. That is for the persons involved to figure out.
Lone Stranger June 18, 2014 at 04:44 pm
Well thats it then, the votes are all in and Chick-Fil-A and Waffle House win. If we can get theRead More managements libido and the gun play at WH cleared up then we will be happy to return there as well. As far as the chick goes they just represent good American values and good clean fun. Hats off to them both for being winners and not liberal whiner weenies.

Waffle House restaurants chairman of the board Joe Rogers Jr. has sued three Georgia attorneys claiming they helped his former housekeeper record sexual encounters with him in an effort to extort money. File|Patch
Lone Stranger June 10, 2014 at 09:12 am
The whole deal is just kinda gross.
Lone Stranger June 10, 2014 at 11:00 am
Just when you thought this could not get any worse.... The Charlotte Observer is reporting that aRead More Waffle House waitress got a $1000.00 tip from a customer. However Waffle House wont let her keep it. They sent it back to the customer. Per the article the customer confirmed the whole story. I would say that Waffle House is giving new meaning to the term Waffle. I don't plan on ever going back. Ripping off waitresses is not something Im going to support.

Let us agree that media reports of this opera in need of soap do not star paragons of virtue. TheRead More erstwhile CEO comes across like Putin. And, assuming that there are uncorrupted Elders of the Bar, what can they think of lawyers who send a client to acquire a camera and expertise to record her prospective congress with one later to be styled. if she is successful, as misusing power ? As for the female who successfully demonstrated expertise in more than photography, what is there to say ?,
Panera Bread. Patch file
Ann A. Jones June 4, 2014 at 07:23 am
I don't really expect a bread based business to do such a thing, but some gluten free bread may helpRead More them, too.
Josephine Gamma June 4, 2014 at 08:53 am
keep going Panera, it's a start
Lone Stranger June 9, 2014 at 04:27 pm
Yuck. Screw Panera.
The inside of a long-dead mall, as photographed by Seph Lawless for his new book "Black Friday."
Brian May 12, 2014 at 05:28 pm
It has a mall in CT I used to go to, RIP. It also has one in NY that apparently was already reopenedRead More when I was there, so I'm surprised it was on the list. I came to Smyrna after the Cobb Center mall had closed.
OnceWasAnnie May 12, 2014 at 09:07 pm
I worked at Lenox Mall (Starbucks. Ugh!) and hated every second of it. It's a soulless miasma ofRead More unchecked greed and avarice and the bathrooms are never cleaned! Haha...malls...maybe when you're a teenager, a mall is someplace cool to hang out and try to impress other teens but I never willingly went to a mall after my early twenties.
David Brown May 16, 2014 at 09:27 am
More mall news. North DeKalb Mall has been sold. Remodeling is anticipated and there are plans toRead More convert the enclosed portion of the property to an open-air concept. Hopefully, North DeKalb Mall will return to the mall I remember. It is rather moribund now.

Soooooo. Anyone wanna bet that this criminal walks? A former UGA coach convicted in Athens? Uh...no.Read More FYI. Roll up your windows when in Athens. THey keep throwing diplomas from this cow college into your car.

This could be an area where it would be smart to use public funds. Otherwise, we're stuck with aRead More hulking, eyesore of a decaying industrial plant; it's not like this is an undeveloped meadow or woods. And the proposed development will likely bring better and more year-round jobs than a sports stadium, so the Cobb comparison isn't a great one.
Rhea A Johnson Jr May 1, 2014 at 04:11 pm
Brian… consider that six months ago this site was being considered for a horse racingRead More venue…..Don't think that the Legislature thought much of that idea!
electric123 May 2, 2014 at 12:04 am
Like I previously wrote before I got flagged and removed that area is low cost living from a lot ofRead More different ethnicity groups that live in a cheaper mind-set for their financial goals of lower cost living, so unless developer goes for that it is another debacle waiting to happen.
