Not surprised by Top Dawg Tavern's score. Their kitchen staff don't seem to care about getting the…Read More entrees prepared correctly, so why would they care about cleaning anything. Did you really think you could just throw out a brand new restaurant and keep it open because it's new? You have to actually serve GOOD food! Duh!

Our local government officials must pay closer attention to the businesses that are going into…Read More Gateway Station. The new Wendy's that is coming is too close to the one that already exists in Winder. One of them is going to end up going out of business, and we don't need another failed business. There are also too many Title Pawn stores! Why another car wash Do we even have a city planner? If not, we certainly need one! Mr. Bartlett, I am personally appealing to you not to add another business that will add value in the Hwy. 316 corridor, but cause businesses within city limits to lose value. If you ride down Atlanta Hwy. you can see what I mean. There are three gas stations that have closed, one within the last two weeks, across from the new BP station. There is another gas station that closed some time ago near Barrow Regional and Ingles. So that makes a total of four. The Apple Grill closed within the last few weeks and has reopened as a Hibachi restaurant, which I hope will survive. Shane's moved over on the other side of Hwy. 316 leaving a vacant storefront. I realize that the economy is still in a fragile state but I don't believe that business decisions that are being made are helping. Please take an inventory of the number of businesses that we have lost within the last 3-5 years and see what can be done to revitalize the actual City of Winder. I am a homeowner who is very concerned about how her property value is being impacted.
