Train to Be a Storm Spotter

Storm spotters provide reports to help the National Weather Service issue timely and accurate warnings for tornadoes, severe thunderstorms and flash floods.

TriCounty Skywarn will hold a free Skywarn Spotter training class on Jan. 13 at 7 p.m. at the Barrow County Emergency Operations Center.

Storm spotters assist the National Weather Service by providing current updates on the location and intensity of storms. That information is used to send out weather alerts to help protect lives and property.

Registration for the Skywarn class is available online. Click here to register.
