Editor's note: This blog was posted in response to an article about an alleged pickle theft.
I settled into [what I thought would be] a nice comfortable home just around Christmas, 2012. Just after about 2 weeks of being here, I noticed a couple of items missing that I thought I had brought with me. I let it go, after all, I am close to 50 years old now and thought that it could be a lapse in memory.
Within the coming weeks I had realized that there were more items missing from my home....fans, clothes, tools, etc. ... along with pickles from my refrigerator. Stop right there. It was strange to me, as well. I immediately thought (again) it was my mental lapse getting the better of me. Police report was made, just in case.

One early morning, just before I left the house, I decided to put a tape recorder in one of my kitchen cabinets to "see" if it was me or if someone was actually coming into my home and going....."shopping".
I was surprised, after being gone for 45 minutes, that I had captured my dogs furiously barking and then 2 female voices on my recorder. One of them called the other one by name.

She lives across the street with her husband who, also, shoots weapons in his back yard. I thought it must be okay with the neighbors here. I should have known to check local law beforehand.
One night, I was walking my dogs in the neighborhood and finally ran into "shooter" and his wife and mentioned that I had some items stolen, captured two females on tape, but I was absolutely sure to say that I was NOT accusing her, but one of the names matched her name, as well.
Just wanted to set the "record" straight.
