Georgia HS Football Power Ratings: AHS and WBHS Foe Gainesville Makes Top 10

North Gwinnett, Buford and Norcross all ready for a strong regular season finish.

Friday night lights are back again for the final time this month, and here’s a look at the top 20 teams in this week’s Georgia high school football state power ratings as determined by the Maxwell Ratings.

Three of the top four teams are from Gwinnett County.

The ratings, compiled by Loren Maxwell, founder of the Georgia High School Football Historians Association, are generated to determine an objective, computerized rating of the state’s 412 football-playing schools. For a more detailed look, see here.

North Gwinnett, Buford and Norcross are the county’s highest rated teams. But in the end, it doesn’t matter one bit because the great thing about high school football, unlike its big brother on the college level, is the true champion for each classification will always been decided on the field.
