Parent Involvement Day Is Nov. 21

School officials encourage active engagement of parents in their child's education.

The Barrow County School (BCS) system has joined State School Superintendent John Barge in thanking parents for being involved in their child's education.

"We encourage active engagement of parents as it is crucial to the success of our children and schools as we implement new educational initiatives to prepare students for success in the 21st Century economy," a BCS press release stated.

In a thank-you letter to Georgia parents, Barge explained,  “When it comes to parent engagement, the research is clear: when schools, families, and communities support each other, students of all backgrounds and ability levels achieve at the highest levels.”
