More than 700 middle-school and high-school finalists from throughout the state will compete March 29-31 in the 64th Georgia Science and Engineering Fair (GSEF) at The Classic Center in Athens.

Hosted by the Office of Academic Special Programs and the University of Georgia’s Center for Continuing Education, the GSEF is the state’s ultimate venue for displaying science and engineering research by Georgia’s middle- and high-school students.

The public can view the students’ exhibits Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. All student exhibitors will be available to discuss and demonstrate their projects with visitors from 1 – 3 p.m.

“This is a great opportunity to support these innovative student scientists and for parents to expose their younger children to the wonders of science,” said science fair director Christine Burgoyne. “The projects that make it to the state fair are brilliant in their creativity and scientific advancement. Some of this research is of publishable quality.”
