Bethlehem Elementary Preps for Spring Break 2012

Barrow County teachers try their best to stave off the throes of spring fever.

It’s likely that this week will seem excruciatingly long for many Barrow County students, teachers and administrators.

With spring break 2012 set to begin promptly once the final bell rings at the end of the school day Friday, April 13, teachers at Bethlehem Elementary and other schools peppered throughout the county will have their work cut out for them over the coming days as they attempt to ward off symptoms of spring fever in their students — and themselves.

Between the final days of Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests, or CRCTs, two days devoted to making up CRCTs that were missed and an always fun field day on Friday, students at Bethlehem Elementary are promised a jam-packed week of educational and recreational distractions. Their well-deserved spring-themed escape from the hallowed halls of their school officially runs April 16 through 20 — a full two weeks after most Georgia counties have already commemorated their spring breaks.
