Barrow County Schools Announce Winter Weather Plans
The school has issued a statement regarding school activities for Jan. 7.
The dangerously cold temperatures forecast for tomorrow morning have prompted Barrow County Schools to take steps to ensure the safety of students and staff.
In an email to media outlets, Barrow School Superintendent Dr. Wanda Creel advised the Barrow County School system will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 7, due to the winter weather. All school activities planned for Jan. 7 will be rescheduled.
The Board of Education meeting has been rescheduled for Thursday, Jan. 9 at 7 p.m.

"At this time we anticipate that normal school hours will resume for students and staff on Wednesday, January 8, 2014," Creel added. "Thank you for your patience and understanding. Please stay safe and warm!"
