The Power of Home Surveillance Cameras: Are You a Believer?

For many people, their home is one of the most important things they own. But just how far are people willing to go to protect their home? Or even themselves and their family?

Last week in the heart of Midtown Atlanta, police arrested a teenager who earlier this month had been caught on tape committing an armed car jacking and home invasion of a man who was simply attempting to take out his garbage.

Authorities said the surveillance video was useful in helping identify the teen and eventually leading to his arrest. 

Earlier this month in LaGrange, Ga., a home security camera captured a U.S. postal worker driving on a homeowner’s lawn to deliver a small package. 

This month in northwest Atlanta, home surveillance cameras depicted the steps taken by a burglar to break into a home and steal items from it.

There’s little doubt that a home security camera can aid in lowering incidents of vandalism or theft. While a home surveillance system can be a bit pricey and sometimes challenging to maintain, the costs would appear to not outweigh the benefits for some.
