Winder Flushing Out Contractor for Sewer Project

Only one week remains for interested parties to submit sealed bids in hopes of taking the lead on construction of the Embassy Walk Gravity Sewer.

The city of Winder announced in April a request for bids for the Embassy Walk Gravity Sewer project.

Contractors interested in tossing their hat into the ring have one week left to submit their sealed bids to the city clerk at 45 E. Athens St. All bids must be received no later than 2 p.m. Thursday, May 17, and will then be read aloud at 2:30 p.m. at the .

Following the opening of the sealed bids on May 17, the city of Winder will evaluate all bids received and award the contract based on bid price and qualifications. The successful bidder will be required to perform work as the prime contractor.

The work to be completed on the Embassy Walk Gravity Sewer consists of the provision of all materials and equipment, as well as the performance of all labor necessary to finalize the project. This includes, but is not limited to all associated structural and mechanical components, wastewater equipment and all site work to provide a complete project in accordance with the plans and specifications.

All bids must be accompanied by a bid bond in an amount no less than 10 percent of the amount bid. Bidders must also provide satisfactory evidence that they hold a current Georgia State Contractors License of proper classification and in full force and effect, in compliance with Act O.C.G.A 43.14. Contractors bidding on this project and their sub-contractors will be required to comply with all federal, state, territorial and local laws.
