Winder Council Approves Board Appointments

The Winder City Council approved several appointments to various boards, commissions and authorities during its first business meeting of 2012.

All appointments were approved unanimously by all council members.

1. Joint Development Authority re-appointment for Tommy Sanders — Term ending Dec. 31, 2015
2. Joint Development Authority re-appointment for David Smith – Term ending Dec. 31, 2015
3. Public Facilities Authority appointment for Wayne Crowe — Term ending Dec. 31, 2013
4. Historic Preservation Commission appointment for Helen Person — Term ending Dec. 31, 2014
5. Historic Preservation Commission appointment for Mike Bentley — Term ending Dec. 31, 2014
6. Downtown Development Authority re-appointment for Mace Strickland — Term ending Dec. 31, 2017
7. Ethics Board appointment for Bruce Braselton — Term ending Dec. 31, 2013
8. Ethics Board appointment for Alfred Hazel — Term ending Dec. 31, 2013
9. Ethics Board appointment for Jim Townsend — Term ending Dec. 31, 2013
10. Downtown Development Authority appointment for Chris Maddox — Term ending Dec. 31, 2017

Mayor David Maynard said members of the Downtown Development Authority do not need to be city residents. Owners of properties and businesses are eligible for appointment.
