Wednesday, Feb. 13 statement from the district:

Barrow County School leaders have carefully monitored weather conditions.  In an effort to ensure student and employee safety, the Barrow County School System will be closed on Thursday, February 13, 2014.  All school activities will be cancelled or rescheduled.  As conditions develop, we will determine when it is safe to resume school.  Please stay tuned to local news stations, the school system's Twitter page, Facebook page, and the BCSS website for additional updates and information. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to navigate through our weather challenges! 

Barrow Government

Posted statement:

County offices will be closed Wednesday, February 12thand Thursday, February 13th, 2014.

Regular operating hours are expected for Friday, February 14th, 2014.

The Board of Commissioners meeting that is scheduled for Tuesday, February 11th, 2014 at 7pm has been canceled. The items from the February 11th agenda will move to the February 25th, 2014 meeting at 7pm.
