See Braselton Behind the Scenes through the Town's Citizens Academy

Applications are being accepted for the free, six-month "behind-the-scenes" program.

The town of Braselton is accepting applications for the 2012 session of its Braselton Citizens Academy.

This six-month program—– offered free of charge once a year — gives participants a unique, behind-the-scenes peek at each of the town’s departments, services and programs.

The mission of the citizens academy is to offer insight as to how Braselton’s agencies function, while providing open lines of communication between residents and town staff. Participants will also learn how they can use all of the services the town government offers and gain a clearer understanding of the town’s form of government.

Braselton Citizens Academy classes are limited to 10 participants. Applicants must be 18 or older to participate. Meetings are held from 6 to 8 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month and begin in May. Voluntary tours and ride-alongs are also offered outside of regular class times.

Applications are being accepted through May 2, 2012, but hurry! With such an exclusive number of spaces, the class is likely to fill up quickly.
