An 8-ton bulldozer disappeared from a county job site recently, and Barrow County officials are asking for the public's help to find the missing machinery.

The reports county employees believed the rented John Deere Model 450 Dozer had been picked up by United Rentals in Bogart. However, when the rental company dispatched a truck to retrieve the equipment, it was missing.

The alleged theft is believed to have occurred sometime between 4:30 p.m. Dec. 12 and 8:30 a.m. Dec. 13. The Journal reports the bulldozer was operated with a universal John Deere key and was parked about 100 feet off Ga. Highway 81. It has the number 939653 stenciled on it, and its serial number is T0450JX137831. If you see this bulldozer, call the county's roads and bridges department at 770- 307-3075 or contact law enforcement.
