Statham Police Department has Openings for Two Officers

If you answered “yes” to any of the questions above, you may be happy to learn that the Statham Police Department is currently accepting applications for two police officers.

In order to provide its residents with a safe and secure place to live, work and play — the city of Statham operates a well-trained 24-hour police department, led by Chief of Police Steve Martin. Currently, the staff of seasoned officers collectively boasts more than five decades of law enforcement experience. The department works closely with Barrow County and Georgia law enforcement agencies to best answer the needs of a growing city and county.

Officers with the Statham Police Department are “dedicated to serving the needs of a diverse and dynamic community, and are always open to observations, feedback, tips, and suggestions. (The) department recognizes the integral role of its relationships with the residents of Statham and strives to improve community relations every day with every interaction.”

Candidates for the two open positions within the department must be high school graduates or the equivalent, 21 years of age or older and Georgia POST-certified. Applicants should be prepared to provide a seven-year driver's history at the time of application. All job applicants being considered for employment will be required to pass a drug and/or alcohol screening test prior to being hired.

Applications for employment can be downloaded from the city’s website or can be picked up at between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The deadline to submit applications is Nov. 18, 2011. If you have any questions, call the Statham Police Department at 770-725-5992.
