Auburn Reminds Voters about Special Election Referendums on Nov. 8

County appointments and Sunday alcohol sales will be on the ballot Tuesday.

The city of Auburn wishes to remind voters that they may need to visit more than one of the polls Tuesday, Nov. 8, in order to cast a vote on special election referendums.

In the city election, the much-anticipated issue of Sunday alcohol sales in Auburn goes to the voters Tuesday. If passed, this referendum will permit alcohol sales — beer and wine only — within city limits on Sundays between the hours of 12:30 and 11:30 p.m. This Municipal Special Election Referendum will be on the ballot at the Auburn-Barrow Fire Station No. 4 at 1335 4th Avenue, on the corner of Fourth Avenue and County-Line Auburn Road.

Barrow County will also post a special election referendum as part of the county-wide elections Tuesday. This particular referendum allows for the appointment of a county manager and a part-time chairperson for the Barrow County Board of Commissioners. To find your county voting precinct/poll location, visit the “My Voter Page” on the Georgia Secretary of State website. While on the site, you can also check your voter registration status, mail-in application and ballot status, early voting locations for future reference, elected officials, registration information on file with the county office and a sample ballot for the upcoming election. Some lucky residents will be able to cast their vote in both elections at the same location — the Auburn-Barrow Fire Station No. 4.
