Auburn Council Approves Funding for County Organization, Renews Lease with Local Arts Center

  1. The council voted 3-1 to approve a request for a $3,000 contribution to the Barrow County Economic Development Council for the FY of Oct. 1, 2010, to Sept. 30, 2011, in support of economic development programs. Langley votes against a motion to approve the request for funding.
  2. The council voted unanimously to renew a lease with the Georgia Piedmont Arts Center for city-owned rental property at 1396 Third Ave. from April 1 through March 31, 2012, for $200 a month, with the arts center responsible for all utilities. The organization agreed to provide general liability insurance.
