Application Deadline Nearing for Two Jobs with City of Winder

The city of Winder is seeking ideal candidates to fill two open full-time positions — accountant and utility billing technician.

Friday, July 6 marks the application deadline for both positions.

The qualified candidate for the role of accountant for the city of Winder should possess:

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• Five years of accounting, auditing, accounts payable, purchasing or other related experience — A CPA or master’s degree in accounting or finance may substitute for two years of experience
• The availability to work evenings, weekends and/or holidays as required
• The ability to be bonded and pass a credit check

If hired, this individual will perform responsible financial, statistical, budgetary and other management analyses in support of the development and administration of city budgets, including the preparation and/or review and analysis of financial documents, operations and organization. This employee also assists in the preparation of general accounting practices and day-to-day business operations and performs related duties as assigned. The qualified candidate for the role of utility billing technician for the city of Winder should possess:

• Associate degree from and accredited college or two years of college
• Three years of progressively responsible experience in accounts payable, auditing or utility billing, with government or utility billing experience desirable
• The availability to work evenings, weekends and/or holidays as required
• The knowledge of proper billing processes with a high level of confidentiality and problem solving skills
• The ability to provide accurate, timely and courteous service under stressful and adverse circumstances

This employee performs specialized duties in assisting the customer service manager in meeting division goals by providing professional customer service to Winder residents and other employees. This position requires extensive public contact responding to escalate customers’ questions, problems and issues with the ability to explain complex processes and procedures. For more information about this position, please visit the utility billing technician employment Page.
