Advance Voting Begins Today for Barrow County Residents

Barrow County residents can vote in advance of the July 31 General Primary Election now.

While the official date for the upcoming General Primary is Tuesday, July 31, Barrow County residents can cast their votes in advance. 

Advance voting will run weekdays today through Friday, July 27, at the . Residents can vote from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Extended hours for advance voting will be held from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 25 through 27, and residents can vote in advance from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 21. 

There will be no advance voting Monday, July 30.

Residents can elect to vote either a Democratic or Republican ballot, with nonpartisan elections and a special election referendum on the Northeast Georgia District TSPLOST appearing on both ballots. View the ballots in PDF files to the right of this text underneath the photo.

I grew up in a Winder where doors were not locked and the town was full of folks shopping! SometimesRead More a moonshiner would get caught or the parking meter would run out of time and one would get a parking ticket by one of the three cops in town! Now I keep a weapon handy because of voices and footsteps on the pavement at night! Where are these people coming from and going to after one o'clock in the morning? Why does it take so long for a policeman to show up after a call is made,if they show up at all? I've watched nice homes on my street turn into dumps. They are rented by owners who are only interested in the money and not the quality of people who are renting. Yeah, I keep a weapon and it's loaded for a thief or prowler! When seconds count a cop is only several minutes away,if at all!
