Six to eight different signs in the Lumpkin Street area have been vandalized.

A number of Winder street signs were vandalized recently.

According to a Winder Police Department incident report, an officer was asked to check out the area of Lumpkin Street. The officer observed six to eight different signs that had been vandalized.

Some of the signs had symbols on them — what appeared to be a triangle with a dot in the center — while others appeared to have the words "blood game" written on them.

"In a case of vandalism it would be best if the owner of the property that was damaged contact us," Public Information Officer Chris Cooper said. "In this particular incident, with it being government property (stop sign), anyone can call and we would most likely get our street department or DOT to come out and clean it up."
