House Fire Displaces Barrow Family of Four

Barrow County Emergency Services' Engine 5, Engine 6, Med 6 and Battalion 1 responded to the scene.

A house fire Friday morning displaced a local family. 

Communication officers with received a 911 call at 7:32 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, reporting a structure fire in the 400 block of Cedar Valley Trail. Firefighters responded and found fire showing from the roof of the structure and heavy smoke conditions.

Engine 5, Engine 6, Med 6 and Battalion 1 were dispatched to the call. A third engine was called due to the lack of hydrants in the area of the fire. Firefighters made an aggressive attack and were able to bring the fire quickly under control, but the house was heavily damaged. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Investigation Team.
