Two adults have been displaced following a weekend home fire.
Just before 4 p.m. Saturday, communication officers with Barrow County Emergency Services received a 911 call reporting a fire in the 1300 block of Ga. Highway 82.
“Firefighters responded and found heavy smoke showing in the basement of the home,” Lieutenant Scott Dakin, public information officer for the department, said in a news release. “They made a very quick attack and were able to stop the fire from spreading further.”

Engine 1, Engine 6, Med 6 and Battalion 1 responded to this scene. Although the fire was quickly contained by firefighters, the home suffered smoke damage throughout.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Investigation Team.
