Two Arrests Made When GMC Yukon Races Infiniti Through Streets of Bethlehem

A Barrow County Sheriff's report states a female passenger switched seats with the unlicensed driver after she encouraged him to race.

Two unlicensed drivers were arrested on Oct. 28, 2012 when a Barrow County Officer, who was parked in the Bethlehem Chick-fil-A parking lot, observed a silver Infiniti turn onto Exchange Boulevard while traveling at a high rate of speed.

According to the Barrow County police report, unlicensed drivers Miguel Ramirez-Bravo and Wilfredo Pineda-Franco were arrested and charged with racing and driving without a license. Ramirez-Bravo received an additional charge of passing in a no passing zone.

The officer reported that Ramirez-Bravo,the driver of a GMC Yukon, gunned the engine of his vehicle and proceeded to pass a silver Infiniti, driven by Pineda-Franco, in a no passing zone. Both drivers then continued to accelerate while positioned side by side. The vehicles both came to a stop in the parking lot of Carmike Cinemas.

Once the vehicles stopped at the cinema the officer in pursuit observed that the male driver of the Yukon switched seats with a female passenger. When asked why the individuals switched, the female stated that she did not want the driver to get into trouble because she had encouraged him to beat the Infiniti driver.

The female passenger was released with a warning.
