Suspect in Barrow County Double Shooting Reportedly Hospitalized

The man was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center after shooting himself at a Suwanee location, police said.

The suspect in a double shooting that occurred in Barrow County is alive despite shooting himself following the incident. 

Suwanee Police were involved in a SWAT standoff with the suspect this afternoon, according to a police spokesperson. 

Capt. Clyde Byers said the agency received a call from Barrow County after the double shooting at a residence on Parks Mill Road in Auburn.

"En route to the address we got word that the suspect was in the front yard with a hand gun to his head and threatening suicide," Byers said in an e-mail to Swuanee Patch. "He eventually did pull the trigger and was transported to GMC in Lawrenceville and is still alive according to the hospital."
