Statham Police Arrest Suspected Shoplifter, Respond to Report of Property Damage

On Sept. 3, 2011, a Statham officer responded to the Dollar General store regarding a report of a shoplifter. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with store employees who identified a female in the parking lot as the suspect. After interviewing the female suspect the officer arrested her for shoplifting.

On Sept. 9, 2011, Statham officers responded to a report of damage to property on Greenfield Drive. According to the complainant, he heard a loud crash and about 30 minutes later looked out his window and saw where a vehicle had driven through a yard next door. The complainant went on to say that he saw a white car parked in the roadway and that when it drove off it sounded as if it were dragging its bumper. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.
