A Statham woman told the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office that more than $4,000 worth of jewelry was stolen from her Jeffferson Road home.
She didn’t know exactly when it happened, but she had her suspicions.
The woman told a deputy the jewelry, which included a $2,000 diamond pendant, was in her jewelry box in the top drawer of a dresser in her master bedroom. She hadn’t looked in the box since early March, but noticed the items missing on May 10.
The missing items included:
White gold diamond pendant, with inner yellow gold center ring, valued at $2,000.
White gold circle pendant with diamonds and necklace, valued at $1,500
1/8-kt diamond stud earring set, valued at $150
Diamond/pearl pendent, valued at $800
There were no signs of forced entry at the house.
The deputy wrote in the incident report the woman said she remembered that a contracting crew worked inside the house on May 3, and four workers were left alone for about an hour that afternoon.
The case is being investigated.
