Man With a 'Numb' Look, Droopy Eyes Claims to Be Having 'Some Kind of Mental Break'

Police found two empty oxycodone bottles in the man's pockets.

A man behaving strangely at a West Athens Street restaurant prompted a call to the authorities on Dec. 18. The man, according to a restaurant employee, was "acting odd" and had ordered a meal, but left before the meal was ready.

A Winder Police officer located a man nearby matching the description provided the restaurant employee.

"His face appeared very pale and he had a look on his face like it was numb. His eyes were droopy and very red in sharp contrast with the rest of his face," the officer wrote in the report.

When asked why he didn't get his food, the man said he forgot and was "having some kind of mental break."

The man spoke slowly and mumbled as he answered the officer's questions and reportedly stated he took methadone.

The man, identified as Ashley Willoughby, 29, of Winder, was placed under arrest for public intoxication. During a post arrest search, the officer found two empty Oxycodone pill bottles in Willoughby's pocket. Both had been filled that day and should've contained 180 pills, but both were empty.

Willoughby was transported to the Barrow County Jail without incident.
