Man Arrested while Dining at Zaxby's in Winder

A Jefferson resident was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after reportedly refusing to leave the business.

A Jefferson man was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct recently after reportedly refusing to leave in Winder. 

On April 10, 2012, an officer with the was dispatched to the fast-food restaurant to assist an off-duty Jefferson police officer who had reported a disorderly customer. 

Upon arrival, the off-duty officer pointed to a man seated at an outdoor table. When the Winder officer approached the customer and asked what was going on, the man started to apologize for his actions.

When the officer interviewed the business's manager, the manager said an employee had asked the customer to leave, but he responded by saying, “We can take this outside and I will whoop your ass." According to an incident report, the statement was made in the presence of several children under the age of 14. 

The customer was eventually identified as 48-year-old Michael Medley of 3472 Winder Highway in Jefferson after the officer asked several times for his name.

Medley was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct before being transported to the .
