Home Video Shows Burglars Taking Tools, Pop Tarts

Security footage showed two males taking the items.

Missing crackers and Pop Tarts tipped a Winder man off to a burglary at his Independence Court home.

As the man was getting ready to leave for work on Sept. 16, he noticed a pack of crackers and two Pop Tarts were missing out of the bag on his motorcycle, which had been left parked in the garage. Thinking it odd the food wasn't in the bag, he checked his home security system and discovered his home had been burglarized.

Surveillance footage showed two males enter the carport area of the residence at about 4:16 a.m. The footage, according to the Barrow County Sheriff's Office incident report, showed the two men rummage through the man's belongings and take the food, several tools and a shop light.

The resident said he did not recognize the men. He was able to provide the deputy with an external jump drive containing photos and videos of the incident.

The two suspects are described as white males in their late twenties or early thirties. One of the men was wearing camouflage-patterned pants and shirt. That male had brown hair and was wearing black shoes. The second male had black hair and multiple tattoos on his arms. At the time of the incident he was wearing a red Polo-style shirt, blue jeans, tennis shoes (red, white and black in color) and a gold chain with a cross pendant. According to the incident report, there is a "distinctive" tattoo of a person's face on the left forearm near the elbow.

The case is listed as active.
